What is 3D_Mec?

3D_Mec is a Program for Numerical, Symbolical and Graphical Treatment of Vectorial Expressions and Equations in Mechanics.

In short, it can be said that 3D_Mec is a program for the simulation of Multi-Body Mechanical Systems.

In a more general way, it could be said that 3D_Mec is a program for the simulation of Discrete Dynamical Systems.

3D_Mec focuses on teaching Mechanics. So, it doesn't treat to hide the basic and theoretical aspects underlining the formulation of dynamical problems. In fact it is needed to know some of the basic principles of mechanics in order to solve a given problem. Following that idea, the problem definition is done through the introduction of textual sentences that resemble those used when manually solving the problem.

So what does 3D_Mec do?

It greatly simplifies the formulation process: making the symbolic and numerical calculations, minimizing the possibility of errors, displaying a sketch of the system, numerically integrating the formulated equations, animating the sketch,...

In order to get a clearer idea you can have a look at the on-line animations, or at the screenshoots of the application. You can also review the documentation.
